There’s nothing like getting out on the mountain bike when you’re having a rough day. From burning off stress, to decreasing anxiety and simply clearing out the shi** floating around in your head! The adrenaline and endorphin rush mixed with the cardiovascular benefits and the total focus required for the task at hand, is a surefire way to boost your wellbeing.
I think, like most people, there are days that come along where you just want to lay on the couch and feel sad. Those are times when I turn towards biking to pull me out of a funk. I grab my bike, Kula, and go find some tricky trail feature to shift my focus to—it’s an achievement and a little win that brings me back to a positive mindset.
One of the best ways that we can implement self-care is by doing something enjoyable where we don’t face the pressure of our daily responsibilities. So when you’re feeling down, go be a kid again and send it down the trail!
