Rachelle’s story
Hi there and welcome! I am Rachelle Hynes, a Brand Strategist and Author. I started Zesty Life as a quiet corner to untangle the real questions of being human: grief, self-awareness, humility, relationships, health, purpose, and the strange, beautiful mess of becoming yourself.
I live in Squamish, BC with my zesty sidekick, Kula — my Labrador with a talent for stealing bananas finding the best lines. When I’m not creating brands, package design or writing, you’ll usually find me on a mountain bike, skis, fly rod, road bike, or wandering through the forest looking contemplating life’s mysteries.
My life has been shaped by adventure, hard lessons, curiosity, and the kind of hard experiences that leave you humbled but more awake. I’ve learned that when you follow the quiet tug of intuition — your heart has a way of landing exactly where it needs to be.
Zesty Life blends plant-based eating, mindfulness, storytelling, mountain biking, Tao-inspired wisdom, and humour. Rooted in living with intention, feeling deeply, choosing courage over comfort, and making space for the parts of you that want to rise.

As a professional creative branding expert, package designer and founder of two branding agencies I have over a decade of experience in what it means to be authentic, bold, and thrive in your uniqueness. I live from a deep place of curiosity and aim to share my experiences, insights, stories and practices.

This is Kula, my Zesty little sidekick.
Kula’s favourite things are bananas and mountain biking. She makes me laugh pretty much every minute of the day. Together we are passionately in pursuit of new adventures. Kula and previous dogs in my life have taught me what I believe to be some of life’s most important lessons—love, patience, compassion, adventure, companionship, loyalty, trust and loss.
