Give your body some love

Honour your body with mindful food choices. It’s not about feeling deprived of tasty food, it’s about feeling empowered that you made healthy decisions—one meal at a time, you can love yourself from the inside out!

This smoothie is like a big fat superfood smooch for your body. Complete with matcha powder to protect against free radicals, snuff out inflammation and fend off disease. Spirulina to nourish you with plant-based protein, boost your nerve function with B12 and fend off anemia with iron.

A matcha made in heaven

Matcha provides about three times the antioxidants of regular green tea. Unlike many other green teas, matcha leaves are first covered and grown in the shade for 20 weeks before they are harvested. This process boosts matcha’s chlorophyll levels, giving it its extra vibrant green hue.

Here are a few matcha benefits

  • Improves brain function
  • Fires up metabolism
  • Boosts immunity
  • Improves your skin
  • Slows aging
  • Decreases cancer growth
  • Protect from diseases
  • Reduce heart disease risk
  • Reverse diabetes

Stay lean with Spirulina

A super duper concentrated source of nutrition, spirulina is a blue-green algae noted for having the highest percentage of complete protein by weight of any food on earth. Studies have established a strong relationship between spirulina intake and enhanced endurance as well as accelerated recovery from exercise.

Here are a few spirulina benefits

  • Detoxifies your body
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Builds tissue and cells
  • Increases endurance
  • Combats anemia
  • Anti-aging
  • Promotes healthy weight-loss
  • Improves digestion

Ginger – Ginger is among the healthiest and zestiest spices on the planet. A natural anti-inflammatory, it may reduce nausea, help with digestion, fight cancer and boost the immune system. For athletes, ginger can open up your airways, assist in weight-loss, improve circulation and strengthen your immune system.

Matcha – You’re no matcha for me! When you drink matcha you ingest the entire leaf and receive 100% of the nutrients of the leaf. Matcha boosts metabolism, burns calories, detoxifies, naturally calms the mind and relaxes the body, enhances mood and aids in concentration.

SpirulinaCell and tissue building protein, anemia-preventing iron, nerve and DNA enhancing Vitamin B12 and free-radical-fighting antioxidants.

Turmeric – This long lost zesty relative of ginger has an impressive list of uses and benefits. Cancer-fighting is a badge it wears proudly, but also Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and helps support the body’s inflammation levels—a valuable supplement for those active in sport.

Blueberries — Packed with nutrients like disease-fighting anthocyanin, cell-protecting and memory boosting flavonoids, skin-enhancing vitamin A and C and free-radical-fighting antioxidants.

Spinach – One of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, this endurance enhancing leaf is full of iron, contains cancer fighting antioxidants, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, and 40% of your magnesium requirement daily. Whoa yeah baby let’s get it on!

Banana– Bananas are high in heart rate and blood pressure stabilizing potassium. Rich in antioxidants, which can provide protection from free radicals (not the tubular kind of radical.)

Hi, I was wondering why you say to add the spirulina and the matcha powder at the very end? What happens if you add them at the start?

      Hi Tammy!

It’s totally fine to add it before, but I prefer not to over-blend those delicate ingredients.
